Did i tear vertebral artery in my neck by turning my head to hard ?ive always had slight vertigo i have this weird sensation in my head and my face feels number than usual ?do i need an mri?i recently felt this way after turning neck without hands

Urgent !: This can be very dangerous. One can tear one of the arteries of the neck with am improper (usually fast/forceful) neck rotation. This is called an arterial dissection and can lead to bleeding/hematoma, and/or clots being sent to the brain (causing stroke). Vertigo may be a symptom of this problem. CT angiogram or traditional angiogram is warranted. Please go to your emergency room urgently!
