A member asked:

Hello. my 8 yrs old daughter have her tsh level on 5.10. i didn't see her pediatrician yet for a follow up. should i be worry?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Agree with Dr. F: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, the TSH result suggests thyroid deficiency and it warrant a follow-up, as soon as possible. Wish you and your daughter good health!
