Cough: Can't say for sure. The mask and shield are good barriers but you obviously already know that there is no guarantee. I would encourage you to contact the dentist's office to inquire if s/he has COVID 19. I know it feels like a hard question to ask but it may help to give you peace of mind. Many people have chronic coughs. If that is the case with the dentist , it woudl be help to tell patients.

Very low: There's lots of reasons for coughing such as allergies, a tic, common cold, etc. M ask and face shield, coupled with all of the other measures now standard in dental offices, are there to protect both you and the Dentist. Statistics have shown chances of infection in a dental office to be exceptionally low. If you're concerned, get tested.
