Depends: If you were regularly taking anti-retroviral medications in pregnancy and classified as low risk with a low viral load when your babay was delivered, she may be able to stop medications after the first recheck at 2-4 months. Check with your doctor about what level of risk you and your newborn are to know the answer to this question

Depends: If mother have received antiretroviral treatment before the onset of labor, your infant needs to take oral zidovudine for 6 weeks. If not, infant needs to take zidovudine for 6 weeks along with 3 doses of nevirapine during the first 1 week.
