RNA PCR Rare false+: Both Qualitative and Quantitative HIV PCR testing have very low rates of false positivity! So if HIV 1 Real time PCR quantitation is Positive for 30 or more copies /ml of blood It means you have active HIV Virus in your bloodstream even if it is at low titer! HIV Non Progressors have Positive ELISA/Western Blot Testing but negative HIV Viral load ! So HIV does not replicate in their bloodstream
