Hypertension: The measurement taken with your blood pressure monitor is technically a high number. Your wife should see her primary care doctor or a cardiologist for a history and physical examination as well as to discuss reasons for the high reading, long term blood pressure monitoring and potential treatment. Hope that helps!

Elevated BP: If her usual blood pressure is on the low side(under 120/80) she may note symptoms at 150/93 which is moderately high. I don't consider this to be an urgent problem at this time, but would recommend resting, avoiding caffeine, alcohol, nicotine, excess salt intake and also avoid medications like ibuprofen or naproxen which can elevate BP. If BP remains elevated, contact her MD for instructions.
