Keep it Clean: It doesn't sound like you did too much damage. It should heal in the next week or so. Watch for swelling, pus, heat, pain and a foul taste that would indicate infection. If that occurs, see your dentist.In the meanwhile, keep it clean.

Quite common: In most cases, a tongue bite cures within a week or two on its own. The tongue biting during sleep has been reported as a common symptom in association with night bruxism. The custom night guard can be designed and fabricated by your dentist to prevent jaw closings during sleep, therefore preventing tongue injury.
