Many possibilities: Of course it could be serious. So many possibilities. Most common are: bruxism (grinding, clenching teeth). Wisdom teeth, cracked tooth, abscessed tooth, periodontitis (gum disease), crowded teeth, trauma, sinus.

Personal exam: .These types of situations are best diagnosed by a dentist or physician who can actually take your medical and dental history and personally examine you. Your symptoms may or may not be related. Without knowing what is causing it, we can't determine how serious it is.
