79 yr mother spine compression cancer for 2 1/2 yrs changed medication zapain to butec patch 5mcg 4 weeks ate less,drank less slept more,was confused changed back to zapain.butec patch off it now 48hrs but now sleeping most of day, ideas, withdrawl?

Not withdrawal: While opiate induces drowsiness is possible, sleepiness in advanced stages of cancer is common. Cancer complications are also common in late stages and sleepiness may be related to poor brain perfusion.
