Unfortunate: In end stage cancer disease , making pain free and as comfortable as possible , is essential goal , which your friend is receiving from kind people of hospice , your only hope will not suffer , how long is not the issue now, you pray for your friend.

Depends: People respond differently to metastatic cancer. If hospice has been started, the goal is to make them as comfortable as possible. Sleeping may be due to disease or medication. Continue with supportive care.
