Hi, i took 1 pill of l-tryptophan (500mg) on 7/5 to reduce my anxiety and it actually made it worse. i was reading online that i shouldn't mix l-tryptophan with any ssri's. i havent started my celexa yet. how soon can i take my celexa?

Choose & take daily: Taking 1 pill of any medication for anxiety will not result in significant changes in mood. L-tryptophan and 5-hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP) are needed by the brain to manufacture serotonin. Taking supplements of these requires up to 1 month for the effects to be obvious. The same for Celexa. Don't expect the effects to be obvious after 1 pill. Take the pills (choose one) consistently to see effects.
