Wash off: Capsaicin is a derivative from hot chili peppers that causes a sensation of heat that activates certain nerve cells. With regular use this heating effect reduces the amount of substance P, a chemical that acts as a pain messenger in the body. Heat applied to this area, can cause over sensitization of the pain receptors. Wash area thoroughly with cool water and soap. Try again later without heat.
