A member asked:

I have arthritis in my back which makes it hard to do things but it is now going thru my right hip down my leg what do i do?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Recheck: Pain radiating down the leg, especially past the knee, may signal that it is not arthritis but rather sciatica, a pinched nerve in the back. Also, if you are 24 years old, it would be highly unusual to have significant osteoarthritis of the spine. Sacroiliitis or other forms of arthritis may be present. I would get a re-evaluation through your primary care doc or a spine specialist.
