Ive had the mirena in for 1 year, bad cystitis, i bled a few days ago and now have discomfort in my lower abdomen. is it possible the mirena has been dislodged? also the mirena has caused many cysts, should i have it removed?

Side effects: Chronic problems with your IUD can indicate that you are not tolerating this form of contraception. Talk to the Dr who placed it. They will have suggestions and may elect to remove it and suggest other forms of birth control. Hopefully, the cystitis was treated and resolved. If not, talk to your Dr about a urinalysis and reflex culture.
