Lymph node swelling: If there are lymph nodes which are enlarged due to infection or inflammation, there should be resolution within about 6 weeks. If the mass is painful, swollen, tender, does not move easily or is associated with breathing difficulty, please see a physician right away. Watch for fever, redness and rapid enlargement.

Well : For a non-painful lump there are many different possibilities. Generally if it’s a lymph node it will go away at the end of the month. General recommendations are if the lump is painful bleeding or abscess see a doctor. If the lump doesn’t go away in a month see a doctor in person. Occasionally these type lumps can be a sign of a cancerous lymph node or cancer.
