Need md: Truthfully- you will get the best answer by seeing a doctor because ultimately I would recommend a laryngoscopy which typically is done by ear nose throat doctors. Reason being is that with hoarseness we need to rule out cancer. There are other things such as gastritis/heartburn which can cause this and can be treated by OTC proton pump inhibitors such as Prilosec but you will eventually need seen
