My 13 year old son has a tender eye lid. he sent me a pic. if i zoom in there is a little white dot. is there something i can give him over the counter or should he see a doctor. (next appointment is monday)?

Stye: Styes occur when a gland in or on the eyelid becomes plugged or blocked. This forms a pimple like bump on the upper or lower eyelid. Treatment involves application of warm compresses (wet warm washcloth, heating pad) to the eyelid 3-4 times a day to increase local drainage. If the redness spreads, it may require a Dr visit to prescribe optic antibiotics or for incision.
