Talk to a Dr.: The use of caffeine, alcohol, and tobacco can aggravate RLs symptoms, limiting these can alleviate symptoms. Talk to a Dr. Supplementing iron or vitamin D can help as can prescription meds. Hot/cold Therapy, exercise, stretching/yoga and massage can help. Also consider a foot wrap (restiffic) or pnuematic compression system. alternative medicine such as acupuncture is also used.

Several things: Restless legs syndrome is best treated with exercise during the day (not right before bed), avoiding caffeine/alcohol/nicotine in evening, & possibly massaging legs before bedtime (or a warm bath) . Magnesium supplements at bedtime can have mild muscle relaxing effects which might help, & acetaminophen or ibuprofen can possibly help, but some people do need prescription meds from Dr
