How long after a tonsillectomy am i at risk of bleeding?

!0 days: Usually ther is no bleeding after surgery. But there is raw area in the throat where the tonsil bed was. So if you eat hard food, there may be sight bleeding. Give about 2 weeks for heeling to complete.

5-10 days usually: For most people, the risk of bleeding after tonsillectomy is over about 10 days after the surgery, 14 days at the outside. It is possible but unlikely to have problems after that.
