Hi. ive got this area of skin thats encircled and this area seems to be growing. its surrounded by a fine red line of what looks like pimples on some parts of it. its rather itchy...seems to be getting darker than the rest of my skin and is very dry.

Possible ringworm: This sounds like it may be "ringworm", which is a common fungal infection. You can try an over the counter fungal medication and see if it works. It may take 10-14 days to clear completely. If it is not better in 5-7 days, see your GP. If it gets worse before then, et seen sooner.
