No: Usually a diarrhea last three to seven days depending on the severity of it. at the 3th or 4th day the symptoms should decrease. If you still have cramps and diarrhea after seven days visit ypur doctor.

Gastroenteritis. : Your symptoms sound like nonspecific bacterial gastroenteritis. Caused usually by eating contaminated food or drink. This is common, does not require any specific treatment, just plenty of fluids and in the great majority of cases it gets better by itself. If you hav fever or are getting worse instead of better, you need medical care, PCP or ER.

Time to see Dr: If it is more than a week and if frequency of diarrhoea more than 3 to 4 a day then it's important you see a physician especially when your family remains unaffected
