I have had a fever between 37-39.5 from wednesday to friday. today i have returned to 36.5. i have also had a diarrhoea and stomach cramps since friday. is this just a stomach flu, or should i be getting a covid test?

COVID 19 vs GI : Can't say if you have garden variety viral gastroenteritis or if you have GI effects of COVID -19. It would likely take testing to make that distinction.
