A 34-year-old female asked:
During pregnancy is a low cervix the same as uterine prolapse? is is possible that a tilted uterus would cause or be misdiagnosed as a prolapse?

Uterine prolapse: A "low appearing cervix" that is still well within the vagina is not quite the same as a descended uterus/cervix that is present at varying degrees toward the vaginal opening. A "tilted "uterus will present the cervix towards the front roof of the vagina as the body of the uterus is towards the floor at the back of the vagina. A qualified GYN MD exam should be able to make the distinction.
