Rice Weight Loss: The short answer is that rice being a carbohydrate stimulates Insulin and chronic stimulation of Insulin produces an environment to store triglycerides as fat. It's really not "the rice" but a chronic consumption of carbohydrates in addition to over consumption of total calories from protein, fat, and carbs that create the environment for fat gain.

Rice for Dinner: Save the rice for the last meal of the day. Both white and brown rice have a high enough glycemic index to raise your blood sugar in the first hour after eating, then cause Insulin release which lowers your blood sugar in the second hour after eating. This makes you hungrier than you were when you started! so save the rice for a meal within 2 hours of when you will be asleep and can't snack!
