Testing: If the cause of the pneumonia was not confirmed by culture or PCR, please consider Serologic COVID 19 testing. This may be ordered by your PCP or by Healthtap during a virtual consultation. Stay home, avoid contacts and monitor your temperature. A follow up imaging study is suggested.

If you still have respiratory symptoms or changes in your lung capacity from your pneumonia and pleural effusion, you may be at greater risk for complications, but not at greater risk of actually contracting COVID-19. If you haven't already, please get vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19 to lessen your risk. Wear a mask in group settings, gather outside when possible, and physically distance.
