No: Metronidazole is fine for bacterial vaginosis, and it is often given along with other drugs for PID. However, the other drugs are more important. PID is usually caused by chlamydia or gonorrhea, and other bacteria -- and none of these is treated with metronidazole. Speak with your doctor about other antibiotics that may be necessary.
