OB: Most OB's aim for babies to be born after 37 weeks. With twins, about 60% are born before 37 weeks. Because of the high risk of complications, most OB's will choose caesarean delivery over vaginal more than 50% of the time. Once the babies are born, they are assessed for any physical problems they may have. How long they stay in the NICU depends on the severity of their conditions.
