What could be causing a sharp shooting pain on the side of my head right in front of my ear in the middle that happens maybe once every 10 or 20 minutes or more? just happens not brought on by movement. just started happening past day and half.

Many possibilities: Most people get a headache at some time, such as from colds, infections, lack of sleep, too much driving, long hours on the computer, stress at work, etc... Some people temporarily try Tylenol, Motrin, Advil or Aleve. A bad or recurrent headache, unusual headache (like this one), or with other worrisome symptoms should be checked. The doctor can check to see if the temporal arteries areas feel ok.
