Cutoffs vary: In general for use of biological drugs to treat asthma we use absolute eosinophil level of 150 cells/mm3 as indicative of eosinophilic or th2 type asthma. Elevated eosinophils are common with allergies. It is aso important to rule out certain parasites such as strongyloidiasis and rare forms of lung vasculitis such as EGPA. Fungal allergy is possible.
