A member asked:

Hi there. i get these severe period pains everytime i get my periods. i become weak and sometimes vomit when i get these pains, last year i suspected that i might have fibroids and consulted a gynaecologist but she said there is nothing wrong with me?

Doctor can evaluate: Birth control pills (contain hormones) can be used to help other conditions besides birth control. The pills can help women with acne, frequent periods, heavy periods, painful periods, etc... If a woman wants medication for menstrual pains, her primary care doctor or Ob-Gyn doctor can help after an evaluation to be sure nothing unusual is happening, such as endometriosis. Severe pains need help.
