Eat fewer calories: Helpful weight loss diets have natural foods that take time to chew but contain few calories. Examples include carrots, celery, and leafy lettuce (little or no salad dressing). When shopping for fruits, buy small ones no bigger than a tennis ball, because fruits have sugar. Drinks without calories include water and green tea. A calorie is a calorie, but do avoid sugar or simple starch calories.

Portions/exercise : Portion size is a huge problem for many people: most foods are fine to eat in small to moderate portions. Smaller but more frequent meals can help, rather than 2-3 huge meals/day. Aerobic exercise (walking, biking, swimming, tennis: also good for cardiovascular health) is usually an essential part of successful long term weight loss- it can raise basal metabolism rate. Start gradually!

Intermittent fasting: Eating fewer calories and exercising is not the answer. It’s about resetting your metabolic switch in your cells via intermittent fasting. This is beautifully explained in the book called the obesity code. And there are books on different ways to fast intermittently but you can Google that as well.
