Can paliperidone have different 'mental' side effects than risperidone on a patient? or would all effects be pretty much exactly the same for both drugs? mental side effects e.g. loss of interest, negative thoughts or suicidal ideation.

Pharmacist: My reading indicates that these antipsychotic medications used to treat schizophrenia are quite similar in side effect potential. However nonpsychiatrist physicians would usually not have experience in using these medications and therefore I recommend that you ask your pharmacist or psychiatrist( if you have one) this question.
