Basics: I would assume the kid has had her basic infant vaccines which include the tetanus (DTaP) & these should be up to date. Any issues about rabies is a local one & determined by your local health department. Pet dogs who have had their shots are not a risk. Stray dogs may but for this I would contact someone in your region. A good cleaning of the wound can help avoid the common bacterial infections.
