A member asked:

No: Infants do not need supplemental water. Their breast milk/formula supplies all their fluid needs. An occasional water bottle (4 oz) used if the kid is constipated or to allow a family member to nurture baby is a cultural event that is fine. You are not going to water overload baby with that minimal exposure.
