Depends on the pill: some are coated for protection and the protection is all you lose. some can be time-release or ph-release and you crushing it makes it lose the efficacy entirely. there are very few pills that big though that a normal adult can't swallow them.. discuss with the prescribing physician whether there are alternatives.
