Hurts!: Ibuprofen (Advil), two with food 45 minutes before bedtime, a hot bath before bedtime, and pillows positioned under the covers in the most comfortable position (often with slight flexion) all help. Physical therapy is also useful for stretching exercises that can quiet down an inflamed bursa.
