A member asked:

If hiv is transmitted through needle, how long does it take for p24 antigen to be detectable?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

HIV detection: Latest studies have shown that p24 cannot be detected until about a week after infection with HIV, and is generally only positive from about two to three weeks after infection. Its only an early diagnosis test, before HIV antibody is produced.
