A member asked:

Had a one night stand protected sex & i was sure the condom wasnt teared, & everything if fine. but i was anxious and paranoid so i couldnt wait longer and made p24 antigen hiv test after 10 days and showed non reactive, can this be somewhat reliable?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It is good that the test was negative. It is recommended to get a 4th gen combo test at 6 weeks after exposure. Please note that there are STDs that are not prevented by a condom, e.g., HPV, Herpes, Syphilis, LGV, pubic lice etc. It would be prudent to consult a doctor if you have any concerns. Wish you good health!
