Question vague but: Our bodies are in a simple state of balance. If we eat more calories than we use, we gain weight. If we eat fewer calories than we use, we lose weight. So, some people who stay the same weight eat more than they use on some days, and less than they use on other days... but it averages over time, so that they are eating and using the same number of calories. That is often why weights don't change.

Additional advice: Also, you can ask the doctor who prescribes the metformin to give you some dietary education information or referral to a diabetes education nurse about how to eat a healthy balanced diet. This may help you avoid developing diabetes if that is why you are taking the metformin, maybe because you have a borderline A1C? If your weight normal for height, just try to maintain that more or less.
