I'm having abdominal pain lately. three weeks on prilosec. is it the medication? also dr said i might have a bleeding ulcer. i've been doing everything to maintain healthy,why am i having abdominal pains?

Gastroenterologist: You don't describe your abdominal discomfort enough for an opinion here as to the cause of your symptoms. Bleeding peptic ulcers cause vomiting of coffee grounds looking material and/or the passing of black tarry looking stools along with weakness from blood loss. Consult a gastroenterologist for proper diagnosis and care.

36 yr old male w/ pressure in upper abdomen right below the sternum. The ER doc said it could be a peptic ulcer. Taking Prilosec & galviscon. 1 wk later still pressure & feels better lying flat.
