Covid-19: why aren't we taking temps in school and sending kids with fevers and coughing home?

Odd statement: Your post does not list your location or provide any background for your question.In my area any kid with a temperature or coughing is sent home from school. The schools have also been closed for the rest of the school year. Such practices are the standard set by local health officials and the school board.

Oct.2nd22 I developed a cough,fatigue,body aches so took home COVID-19 test, itwas neg. Then in addition 2nd day I got fever, painful cough, light yellow mucus,mild laryngitis,so tested again day 4, it was positive. Are home covid tests accurate?
