Oct.2nd22 i developed a cough,fatigue,body aches so took home covid-19 test, itwas neg. then in addition 2nd day i got fever, painful cough, light yellow mucus,mild laryngitis,so tested again day 4, it was positive. are home covid tests accurate?

You were infected with covid-19, omicron variant, likely BA.5. The sensitivity of home test is unfortunately low, not more than 70% but specificity is high which means if the test is (-) chance of infection can still be above 30% (your first test result) but if the test is (+), chance of infection is more than 95% (your second test result).
