Regular exams: The best action that you can take to decrease the chance that your glaucoma progresses is to keep regular follow-up examinations with your ophthalmologist so that treatment can be initiated if deemed necessary.

Chronic Condition: Glaucoma is a chronic medical condition that needs to be monitored and followed on a regular basis. As long as glaucoma is caught early and treated early the majority of patients do well. Unfortunately there is no 'cure' for glaucoma but it is a manageable condition. Damage from glaucoma is not reversible, the goal of treatment is to prevent further vision loss.
