In a neck ct scan saids: beam hardening artifact due the prior dental work. what this mean? i don't have dental implants or fillings. i'm a little worried that my results are a mix up. ( with another patient).

Comparison: Best to determine would be through a comparison with dental films you might have had with your dentist in the past. While somewhat unlikely, a possible mix up cannot be ruled out.

Possible: Artifact is always possible even without filling. However, I have seen images get mixed up. Rare, but does happen. Call facility and you can get to your results through medical records or let your doctor know and he or she can double check this.
