A member asked:

At what point in time do you go to hospital if you have covid 19 and how do you self medicate if you do have it?

Per RSA NICD: Seek care right away if difficulty breathing, or other severe symptoms. If mildly ill, try to get evaluated by phone or telemedicine; if not elderly, or chronically ill, home care may be appropriate. (Rest, fluids, and typical cold or flu care.)

COVID 19: Rest. Hydrate, Quarantine. If symptomatic consider acetaminophen, decongestant, or saline for nasal irrigation. Eat healthfully. If you have shortness of breath, blue lips or dizziness - please get urgent evaluation. Call your doctor if you are uncertain about the severity of your symptoms. There are no specific medications for COVID 19.
