Day 6 +ve covid, currently at hospital, so many patients, coughing, sneezing on & off mask here in this room more than 30 people. me to hve to take out mask few time due to puking. is there a risk/ chance i can infected with other covid variant here?

It is not easy to answer your question correctly but you should not worry too much. One virologist gave a theory why children do not get sick with Covid-19 because children might have some common corona virus in their body which prevent the entry Covid-19 (inhibitory competition). By the same token, one type of virus is already occupying your cells, the variant will be prohibited for entering.

It is not likely that you will have a co-infection with another COVID 19 variant. Keep well hydrated, monitor temperature and breathing. The cough may be prolonged and if you have trouble breathing, a chest image is recommended. If the hospital has available an anti viral agent or monoclonal antibody treatment, please discuss your options with the medical team.
