Diagnosed with slipped disk: both low back & sidehip pain. even paralyzed once for a month. told not to bother with mri unless want surgery. if i dont stretch or exert too much, i experience new pain: sneezing hurts base of spine. would mri benefit?

POSSIBLE: It may not be a slipped disc, an MRI could help with a more precise diagnosis. Don't know too many 31 yo with slipped disc

MRI: If you are not planning on surgery, the MRI does not do anything therapeutically by itself. The vast majority of discs heal in a couple of months. Physical therapy, epidural steroid. If overweight reduce weight.
