A member asked:

Hi, i went for a biopsy on a lump on my one breast and the results came back inconclusive and i was told that i need to rather have it cut out. i would like a second opinion before cutting it out. what would you recommend?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Breast lump ?'s: At age 27, with no prime female relatives with a history of breast cancer (mother, sister, aunt or grandmother) it is unlikely to be malignant. Needle biopsies can "miss" the area of the "lump" and the biopsy will be read as "inconclusive". Either surgical removal or a repeat needle biopsy under fluoroscopic control should be the next step.
