A member asked:

After only 2 years of having celiac artery stent, there is highly significant stenosis that requires treatment. what would that be? i exercise daily, eat healthy, normal weight, very good cholesterol, baby aspirin daily.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Inflammation: The stent is categorized as a foreign body to your own body, so an inflammatory reaction may take place around the stent to try to reject it or isolate it from your own body. These outcomes are not predictable and are different in every patient. If the stenosis is severe (>70%) an intervention is needed to preserve the blood flow through the celiac artery to avoid further complications.
