A member asked:

Have had celiac artery stented twice in 2 years due to severe stenosis affecting artery & collateral arteries despite healthy weight, exercise, good cholesterol & diet. what is likely next step if it needs intervention again? what is the likelihood?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Celiac artery: In your situation the stenosis may not have been caused by athersclerosis. Most physicians have no experience treating this condition as it requires a vascular surgeon with experience to evaluate and recommend treatment or discuss various options. If stenosis recurs you may require open surgical more definitive treatment. You could get a second opinion from a vascular surgeon at a university hospi
